Research shows that humans are very suggestible, molded by people and the situations surrounding us. People can use this to their advantage in networking by using four different psychological techniques. The first would be to be close to the person you want to impress or connect with. The second is finding something in common with the other person, such as media, and it does not have to be related to work. You could also lend that person something, give them something or help them out. The fourth thing is subtly mimicking someone’s speech patterns and mirroring their behaviors. Each of these tactics may be helpful in connecting with someone you wish to form a positive professional relationship with.
