As the minimum wage in Seattle gradually increases to meet the new legislation in the city, numerous data has been collected to determine the repercussions on variables such as employment and hours worked. By comparing Seattle to a “synthetic Seattle” produced by collecting data from similar cities, economists are yet to find significant data proving the hike is hurting the city. However, these findings are purely preliminary as the change has just been made recently.
