What can we learn from a General who has been leading men all of his life? Apparently, a whole lot. In this video today we see General Stanley McChrystal give a talk on leading men and women, and how to do it.
For him, and I think this ought to be true of many people…leading is not an issue of simply telling people what to do. That is commanding. No. Leading is a matter of listening and learning where people are first, before telling them what to do. This is by far one of the most important lessons we can learn about leading in general, and its application is not just good for the military, but for all of life as a whole.
